Negative Calorie Foods and Weight Loss
The concept of "negative calorie foods" is an interesting one. Can food really have negative (less than 0) calories? No it can’t. However, once they’re eaten and digested, certain foods can have an overall negative calorie effect in the body. How? These special foods, generally low in calories and high in fiber and vitamins, basically force the body to burn more calories than the foods actually contain.
After eating these foods the body must tap into its reserve energy stores (sugar and fat calories) in order to completely digest them. All negative calorie foods speed up the metabolism and/or alter the mix of fat-burning enzymes and hormones in the body, which, in turn, allows you to burn calories (and lose weight) faster than normal. A great resource on the subject is the
Negative Calorie Foods Diet Ebook
, which explains exactly how to use negative calorie foods to lose weight quickly without starving yourself (and damaging your metabolism).
It’s true, the concept of negative calorie foods seems a bit crazy, but health experts have been advocating the consumption of large amounts of fruits and vegetables for years. These healthy foods, many of which are considered negative calorie foods, are a great way to naturally speed up your metabolism and should definitely be added to your diet for optimum health and fitness.
