A Few Quick Weight Loss Diet Tips
When it comes to losing weight, diet is really the most important part of the equation. This is especially true when you're talking about quick weight loss. However, most people make the mistake of starving themselves when they need to lose weight quickly. That's a big mistake... one that you should never make!
Follow these quick weight loss diet tips and you'll shed body fat faster, with less hunger, and in a much healthier way...
1. Eat more of the right foods.
One of the big "secrets" to fast weight loss is that you actually need to eat more food more often. Starving yourself on some type of crash diet simply will not work in the long run and could actually lead to you gaining more weight. But, of course, you have to choose the "right" foods in order to see great results. Lean proteins... high-fiber vegetables, fruits and whole grains... healthy fats... these are the foods you should be eating throughout the day in order to lose fat and get a whole new body!
2. Eat 5 or 6 small meals per day.
If you're eating only 3 meals a day you're setting yourself up for diet failure. The main reason for this is because you're going to get too hungry between meals, and then you're going to overeat... most likely at dinner. By eating 5 or 6 smalls meals and snacks... spaced about 3 or 4 hours apart... you'll keep your energy levels high, you won't get overly hungry, plus you'll keep your metabolism going strong all day long.
3. Know what to eat.
Educating yourself on what to eat as well as what not to eat is a vital step to achieving quick and healthy weight loss. You're going to make dozens of small choices every day in terms of your diet. Each one is important... even more so when you're goal is to lose weight in a brief amount of time. In general, the best foods for both short-term as well as long-term weight loss are the following:
-- Lean meats -- Nut and seeds (especially the raw versions) -- Beans and legumes -- Vegetables -- Low-fat, low/non-sugar dairy products -- Oatmeal -- Eggs -- Olive oil and other "healthy" fats -- Whole grain breads, pastas, cereals, etc. -- Some fruits, especially berries and apples
4. Watch what you drink.
Many people sabotage their weight loss progress by drinking large amounts of "empty" calories in the form of sodas, juices, and alcohol. When your goal is quick weight loss you basically have drink nothing but water (including seltzer and other no-calorie carbonated waters), unsweetened teas, and -- if you must have something else -- diet sodas. Avoid or severely limit your alcohol intake. If you must have a drink with dinner always choose red wine and limit your intake to a glass or two. Red wine is low in sugar and carbohydrates and may have some health benefits.
