I just wanted to remind you about Dr. Siegrist's new ebook. http://snipurl.com/mdweightloss Several of you have been kind enough to let me know how you're doing with this program, which so far seems to be very, very effective for the big majority of people who try it. If you're following Joy's system, please let what you like about it and, even more importantly, what you DON'T like about it. Thanks very much and I'll see you next week! Jamie ------------------------------ A Delicious Way to Lose Weight ------------------------------ You might think, like a lot of people, that you've got to starve yourself in order to lose significant amounts of weight. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Eating is a fundamental part of losing weight and maintaining a great- looking body. And NOT eating enough food is a great way to make your body burn up valuable muscle tissue and hold on to every ounce of fat with a vice-like grip! The "secret" food ingredient that'll make all your weight loss efforts a thousand time more effective is FIBER. Eat at least 20 grams of fiber a day and you'll begin losing weight, looking better, and feeling more energized almost immediately. Try to eat a variety of fiber-rich foods like: apples strawberries beans broccoli lentils chile peppers green beans spinach zucchini cranberries grapefruit oranges pineapples raspberries tangerines You can eat as much of these foods as you want. They're not only delicious but they'll kill your food cravings and help you to not overeat. On top of that, they're all packed with vitamins and minerals which will improve your health and energy. A good weight loss program that focuses on these and other high-fiber foods is the Negative Calorie Diet: http://snipurl.com/negativecalorie It's one of the safer quick weight loss diets available and one of the few 'fad'-like diets I actually recommend. --------------------------------------------------- Don't waste time with vitamin supplements that your body can't use, that don't really help, and that cost you way too much money. Total Balance is the last vitamin supplement you'll ever need: http://snipurl.com/xtendlife --------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------- Q & A: Natural Appetite Suppressors ----------------------------------- Question: Hello Jamie I know you have a heap of emails so I will make this quick! First of all, a big thanks for your great newsletter. I look forward to it every week and have signed a lot of my friends up to it too! Keep up the great work! My question is whether or not you know what herbal/supplements, etc can help curb the appetite? I hear Sea Kelp helps, but am uncertain what others help? Do you have any other suggestions for curbing the appetite? I think I do relatively well when it comes to healthy eating/exersice ....the only let down is my cravings and appetite!! Look sooo forward to hearing from you soon! Cheynne C. Australia Answer:
Hello Cheynne! First of all, thank you very much for the nice complements. I love to hear that my newsletter is actually helping people - it's a great motivator! Now, in terms of curbing your appetite naturally, there are only a few things that have been proven to work. The first, as mentioned in the above article, is fiber. High-fiber foods soak up water and expand in the stomach, causing you to feel fuller on less calories. There are also several good fiber supplements on the market that can help. Water itself is a good appetite suppressor. Many people who lose lots of weight and keep it off say that drinking a big glass of ice water half an hour before meals helped them eat less and shed more fat. Meat and protein powder (especially whey protein) are good appetite suppressants. Amino acids (the building blocks of protein) cause your body to produce chemicals that make you feel significantly less hungry for hours. Sea kelp is an extremely healthy source of natural iodine, which promotes good thyroid function. Although kelp supplements are often marketed as 'appetite suppressants' their real value is in helping people with thyroid problems lose weight and increase their energy. Finally, if you don't get enough vitamins and minerals in your diet, you're going to feel hungry all the time. This is becoming a common problem because of over-processed foods and poor farming techniques. To combat this try to eat organic fruits and vegetables and take a good, high bio-availability multivitamin. My favorite is Xtend-Life's Total Balance formula: http://snipurl.com/xtendlife ------------------------------------- The 2003 Weight Loss "Resource Guide" ------------------------------------- These are the best weight loss, fitness, and health tools I've found.
