How to Burn Fat and Tone Muscle at the Same Time

I get a lot of emails asking about specific exercise
routines for toning and trimming. I'm not an exercise
physiologist or a personal trainer so I won't attempt
to lay out a step-by-step workout plan.

But I WILL say that the single best way to lose weight and
tone your muscles at the same time is with full-body
exercises performed with light-to-moderate weights or your
own body weight (i.e. pushups and pullups). Cardio alone
will definitely help you burn fat, but you you'll also lose
some muscle tissue, especially if you're cutting calories.

Cardio by itself WILL NOT give you a toned body.

Obviously, the best way to learn how to strength train
properly is to hire a personal trainer. Of course that can
get real expensive real quick. The second best option is
to get a good home workout program. The ones I recommend

Jamie's 10 Dos and Don'ts of Ephedra
------------------------------------

OK, I'm getting a little tired of hearing all the BS in
the media regarding ephedra/ephedrine lately. To help my
readers sort through all the incredibly biased information
out there I've created the following 10-point list:

1. Don't believe everything you hear on the news about
ephedra and ephedrine.

2. Do realize that ephedra is much safer than the vast
majority of prescription drugs, especially the weight loss
drugs.

3. Do realize that far more deaths are attributed to aspirin
each year than ephedra. And that over 100,000 people die
from prescription drug use every year.

4. Don't ever take more than 90 mgs of ephedrine per day.
For most people, 25 mg per day is enough.

5. Don't take ephedra supplements for more than a few weeks
at a time. Give your adrenal system a break every few weeks.

6. Don't take ephedra supplements if you have any serious
health problems.

7. Don't take ephedra supplements if you're going to be
exercising in extreme heat.

8. Stop taking ephedra supplements if you experience very
rapid heartbeat, extreme dizziness, severe headaches, and/or
shortness of breath.

9. Do educate yourself before taking ephedra or any other
popular weight loss supplement by reading unbiased

10. Do understand that the Chinese have used ephedra for
over 5000 years as a MEDICINE for everything from colds to
malaria!
