You Gotta Have a Plan!

If you want to lose weight quickly and safely, you've GOT
to have a plan. It's as simple as that. If you try to 'wing
it', as most people do, you're not gonna be successful, I
promise.

There's a lot of different ready-made weight loss plans out
there but whichever you choose needs to have the following
characteristics in order to be effective:

1. Meals/snacks are based on lean protein - meat, eggs,
fish, low-fat milk, soy, etc.

2. Five or six small meals/snacks should be eaten during
the day

3. 10-20% of total calories should come from fat, yes FAT
- preferably the healthy kind (monounsaturated)

4. Large amounts of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
should be eaten. Starchy 'white' carbs (potatoes, pasta,
white bread, etc.) should be avoided

5. High-sugar foods (candy, pastries, etc.) should be kept
to an absolute minimum

this is a very good choice!

A Common Weight Loss Mistake
----------------------------

When people tell me that they eat well and exercise, yet
can't seem to lose weight, I always ask them this:

"How much soda do you drink?"

Regular, high-sugar soda (Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc.)
is the great diet killer. No matter how well you eat, even
one or two sodas a day can kill your fat loss progress.

Too much simple sugar and too much insulin 'spikage' - and
WAY too many calories!

Simply put, cutting soda from your diet is one of the best
things you can do for yourself this year, fat loss, health,
and energy-wise.
