How to Drink More Water: 3 Fixes for Common Complaints
------------------------------------------------------
You probably already know that drinking lots and lots of
water is an incredibly important key to losing lots and lots
of weight. And you're probably thinking that the title of
this article is pretty stupid, right?
After all, the way to drink more water is to, well, drink
more water...isn't it? But if it IS that simple, why don't
more people do it? Why are so many people chronically
dehydrated (with poor health, low energy, and too much body
fat)?
Anyone who's tried to significantly increase their fluid
intake in a short amount of time knows it's not easy to do.
The reasons most people have a problem drinking more water
are:
1. They don't like the taste of plain water
2. They don't like going to the bathroom every 20 minutes
3. It's a hassle to keep getting up, pouring a glass of
water, and drinking it down all day long
Well, very quickly, here are some proven fixes for those
problems:
1. Taste: Many people enjoy drinking 90% carbonated water
(seltzer) mixed with 10% fruit juice (MY favorite option).
Or, simply adding a slice of fresh lemon or lime can really
improve the taste of plain water. Also, if your tap water
tastes bad, buy a water faucet filter or 2 1/2 gallon jugs
of bottled water (I prefer distilled).
2. Bathroom Time: If you consistently drink larger and
larger quantities of water, your bladder will eventually
stretch and you won't have to use the bathroom as often.
It may take a couple of weeks but, once your body adjusts,
drinking lots of water will be easy.
3. Convenience: Don't think that the rule of "8 glasses of
water a day" means you literally have to pour and drink 8
full glasses during the course of the day. If you can,
that's great. But a better option is to carry a 16 ounce
water bottle and sip from it all day long. Just be sure to
fill it up at least 4 times.
When you're fully hydrated you'll look and feel a lot
better. And, of course, you'll lose more weight! Drinking
water all day every day is an easy, enjoyable habit to get
into and one that most successful dieters develop.
