Hey ya'll, sorry this is a few days late. I've been
traveling (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina) and haven't
had a lot of Internet access. Next week's issue should be
on time...hopefully. ;-)
Enjoy!

Traveling Weight Loss Tips
--------------------------
One thing I've realized during my "southeastern tour" is
that it's pretty easy to gain weight while traveling. The
main culprits I think are high-calorie restaurant meals,
unhealthy snacks, too many drinks, and lack of exercise.
Due to all those things, I probably gained about 5-7 lbs.
in the first week of my trip. But once I realized what was
going on, I quickly made some changes that seem to be
working very well -- I'm definitely losing body fat again!
Here's what to do to continue losing weight -- or at least
keep from GAINING weight -- while traveling:
1. Buy a box of Balance Bars and keep a few on you at all
times. They make much better "fast food" when hunger
strikes than a cheeseburger value meal. Any similar
protein/carb/healthy fat combo bar should work as well.
2. Buy a bag of oranges and/or apples. Eat one before
dinner, then order a high-protein appetizer or small entree
at the restaurant. The fiber in the fruit will fill you up
a bit and keep you from overeating.
3. Do at least 20 minutes of simple exercise every other
day. Use the hotel gym if there is one. Take a walk/jog if
the weather's nice. Do a mini-circuit in your hotel room if
all else fails or if you just want to mix it up:
10 pushups/15 crunches/15 bodyweight squats/30 jumping jacks
1 minute rest
Repeat circuit 5-10 times depending on your fitness level
4. Have a glass of water between drinks when you go out.
It's hard not to drink when your friends, business
associates, travelling partners, etc. are all drinking and
having a good time. Cut your calories in half and stave off
a hangover by filling up on water before, during, and after
the party.
5. Take a good multi-nutrient every day. This ensures that
you're getting all the nutrients (including vitamins,
minerals, enzymes, etc.) your body needs to optimize your
metabolism. By far the best I've ever tried is Total Balance
from Xtend-Life:
Keep these tips in mind the next time you take a trip and
you'll come back looking better than when you left!
