How to Start Your Day Right
---------------------------

If you want to lose weight and have more energy, what you do
during the first hour of the day is extremely important.
Don't sabotage your efforts by eating a high-fat, high-
starch "American style" breakfast.

Bacon, sausage, cheese, biscuits, white toast, donuts,
pastries, high-sugar cereals, and even potatoes are all
things that should be left out of your morning meal.

In my opinion the best things to eat in the morning include:

"light" lean proteins - One or two eggs and some low-fat
cottage cheese are good options.

fruit - Oranges, melons, berries and any other high-fiber
fruit is good.

high-fiber carbs - Oatmeal is great. One or two pieces of
whole grain toast will also work.

water - Drink a big glass of water as soon as you wake up.
Trust me, you'll feel better instantly!

Another good breakfast option is a whey protein shake with
2 scoops of whey protein powder, some low-fat milk, some
fruit, and a few ice cubes.

No matter what you eat you want plenty of protein to
stabilize blood sugar, some complex carbs for energy, fiber
to keep you feeling full, and a bit of fat to help you
absorb the nutrients in your food.

The first hour of the day is also a GREAT time to fit in 15
or 20 minutes of brisk exercise. I'll go into it in more
detail later but just know that morning workouts are
probably the most effective kind for both quick and long-
term weight loss.

Finally, be sure and take a good vitamin & mineral
supplement with breakfast. As I've said before, the best
I've seen by far and the one I use every day is Total
Balance from Xtend-Life:
