A Healthy Grocery Guide
-----------------------
Having a perfect, trim body (not to mention enjoying great
health) all begins at the grocery store. In fact, if you
can master the simple art of healthy food shopping you'll
have won 75% of the battle with fat!
Buy healthy food and you'll eat more healthily too.
Print out the food guide below and use it on your next trip
to the grocery store. You can also use it to help clean out
the junk from your refrigerator and pantry.
If something's not on the list, you probably shouldn't be
eating it...so get rid of it!
When you're food shopping, the most important thing is to
avoid refined products (especially the ones made from
white flour and sugar) as well as fried or high-fat foods.
Here's the list of healthy foods you should be buying,
listed in order of importance:
***** Healthy Food Guide *****
VEGETABLES: The more colorful the better. Most frozen
veggies are ok but skip the canned ones. Also, organic
produce is always your best option.
FRUIT: Pretty much all fruit is good for you. Just avoid
canned fruit packed in heavy syrup, which is pure sugar.
And always go organic if you can.
NUTS: Plain nuts (no oil or salt) are best. Limit peanuts
and cashews. Almonds, walnuts, and pecans have tons of
healthy vitamins, minerals, and fats.
BEANS: Dry beans are best but canned beans are ok if you
rinse the salt off before eating.
GRAINS: As long as it's "whole grain" you're good. This
goes for breads, cereals, pastas, etc. Pick brown or wild
rice over white. Organic grains are becoming more widely
available.
MEAT: Choose extra lean beef. Lean chicken and fish are the
healthiest. Whenever possible, buy free-range and/or organic
meat and eggs.
MILK & YOGURT: Choose low-fat versions of both. Also, avoid
yogurts with lots of sugar. Plain or low-sugar options are
usually available.
OILS & SUGAR: The best options are olive oil, flaxseed oil,
and nut oils. Although no sugar is really "good" for you,
unrefined honey is much better for you than white sugar.
Note: Obviously the above list isn't comprehensive. But it
should help you choose healthier foods that will make it
easier to lose weight and improve your healthy.
--------------------------------------------------------
** AVOID NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES **
Your body is much more likely to have nutrient deficiencies
than you realize. This can translate into both short and
long term health problems.
These problems can be obvious or subtle. Examples are lack
of energy, weight gain, failing eyesight, dry brittle hair
or nails, prematurely aging skin and so on.
There is no better multi-nutrient supplement on the market
than Xtend-Life Total Balance. Utilizing a proprietary
'delivery' system the bio-availability is around 85 - 90%
thus accounting for its exceptional efficacy.
