Total Gym XL Review
The Total Gym XL is one of the newer home gyms made by the Total Gym fitness equipment company. Like the other high end models, the XL is a good, easy-to-use home gym that can give you great results if you use it on a regular basis. Overall it's safer than free weights and more effective than most of the other home gyms priced under $1000.
One of the best things about the Total Gym XL is that it provides a very efficient workout, combining strength training and aerobic conditioning. Short, intense, full-body workouts are the best way to lose weight and tone up quickly. The Total Gym XL gives you exactly that kind of workout.
A few of the major benefits of the Total Gym XL include:
- good, full-body workouts in under 30 minutes - great core (ab and lower back) exercises - functional strength from multi-joint, multi-plane movements - well-made, stable, and durable - good warranty and customer service from Total Gym
Traditionally, the main problem with Total Gyms was that they just weren't made that well. Even now, the low-end models (i.e. Total Gym 1000, 2000, etc.) provide pretty crappy workouts. The machines feel flimsy and you'll get tired of the "jerky" feel of the cables very quickly. If you're going to get a Total Gym, go for one of the high-end models like the Total Gym XL, 11000, or 24000.
The Total Gym XL is very stable, well-built, offers plenty of resistance, and is available with all kinds of cool options (such as Pilates attachments). The smooth feel of the movements actually makes working out enjoyable and something to look forward to. If you're looking for a good, affordable home gym to burn fat and tone up, give the Total Gym XL a try.
